A cheerful December..
During the month of December, we focused on a Christmas tree farm and cookie workshop! All the children loved engaging in play with the pretend play cookies and exploring new ways to decorate their cookies. A lot of children enjoyed exploring our sensory bin which was filled with live Christmas tree branches (the smell was wonderful). We created many different tree and gingerbread themed art as well as read books counting trees and cookies. As we are ending December, we have seen so much progress from all. We have been working hard to work on a lot of communication during play. Using whatever works best for each child (pictures, sign, communication devices, and communication buttons). The more we use language and other forms of communication the more connecting we have during play and making progress on so many goals. We have also been seeing a lot of peer’s connections as children explore new areas in the classroom.
